Quadratic exponential random early detection: a new enhanced random early detection-oriented congestion control algorithm for routers

<span>Network congestion is still a problem on the internet. The random early detection (RED) algorithm being most notable and widely implemented in routers faces problems of queue instability large delay arising from presence an ineffectual singular linear packet dropping function. This research article presents refinement to RED, named quadratic exponential (QERED) algorithm, which exploits advantages two drop functions, namely order enhance performance RED algorithm. ns-3 simulation studies using various traffic load conditions assess benchmark effectiveness QERED with improved variants affirmed that offers better terms average size metrics at network scenarios. Fortunately, replace/upgrade implementation for QERED’s will require minimal effort due fact nothing more besides probability profile got be adjusted.</span>
